The league-leading University of Wisconsin Superior extended its seven-game winning streak this weekend led by junior guard Hailey Kontny (Superior, Wis./Superior H.S.), and the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference honored the Superior native with the title of UMAC Player of the Week on Monday.

UW-Superior (8-3, 5-0 UMAC) posted a pair of road UMAC victories last weekend, defeating Bethany Lutheran College 78-61 on Friday night before knocking off Martin Luther College 86-60 on Saturday afternoon. Kontny scored a season-high 23 points on Saturday against the Knights, totaling 38 points on the week, while averaging 8.0 rebounds per game and shooting 48 percent from the floor. She added three assists, two steals, and one block on the weekend.
