39 Yellowjackets among those honored as UMAC Fall Academic All-Conference selections

Academic All-UMAC List - Fall 2016

The University of Wisconsin Superior placed 39 student-athletes among the 513 selections to the Fall 2016 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Academic All-Conference list for the sports of men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball.

The Yellowjackets had the sixth-highest total of student athletes honored overall and the second-highest among Universities that do not sponsor football in the UMAC. Individuals who earn a 3.50 or better grade point average (GPA) during their respective semesters of competition are recognized with the prestigious honor.

Martin Luther College boasted the highest number of student-athletes recognized as the Knights led all institutions with 92 awards which included 26 winners from women's soccer alone. The College of St. Scholastica was just eight behind Martin Luther racking up 84 fall honors, while the University of Northwestern was solid in third with 67 awardees.

For the fall awards by sport, football had the top number of players recognized with 108 winners. The next four-highest sports collecting awards, though, were female sports with women's soccer tallying 95, volleyball picking up 80 and women's cross country claiming 75.
