UMAC Player of the Week Awards - April 17, 2017

Freshman utility man Cory Albertson (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater H.S.) helped lead the University of Wisconsin Superior to a winning homestand last week, earning the title of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts.

Albertson supplied some power to the Yellowjacket lineup as UW-Superior (7-15, 3-1 UMAC) posted a 3-1 record last week. On Tuesday against Northland College, Albertson homered in each game of the doubleheader as the Yellowjackets and LumberJacks split. In the second game he picked up an assist, throwing out a baserunner at third from right field. He followed up that performance on Friday against Finlandia University, he added his third homer of the week in the first game of the doubleheader. He also pitched the final inning in the game. In total, Albertson was 5-for-12 (.417) last week, getting on-base at a .462 clip while slugging 1.167, scoring six runs and driving in three.

Albertson and UW-Superior are in action Monday afternoon at the University of Minnesota Morris.
