The Yellowjackets men's track and field team was in action Saturday traveled to Decorah, Iowa to take part in the Norse Relays, This meet marked the second of the outdoor season, as the Yellowjackets looked to improve on their early season marks.

This meet belonged to the throwers, as Thomas Udenberg (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet) continued his strong junior season by throwing 52 feet, 6 inches (16.00 meters) to take home the shot put by nearly three full feet. C.J. Pillath (Coleman, Wis./Coleman) placed third, finishing with a top throw of 46 feet, 11 inches (14.30 meters) while Tony Willette (Wells, Minn./United South Central) finished fourth with a top throw of 44 feet, 4.75 inches (13.53 meters).

Udenberg and Willette also flexed their muscle in the discus, where they too fourth and fifth, respectively. Udenberg finished with a top throw of 128 feet, six inches (39.16 meters). Willette was not far behind, finishing with a top throw of 127 feet, four inches (38.82 meters). Udenberg also took fifth in the hammer throw, finishing with a top throw of 145 feet, 1 inch (44.23 meters).

Noah Potratz (Ripon, Wis./Ripon) just missed out on a school-record javelin throw with a top throw of 166 feet, 10 inches (50.86 meters) to place second overall in the event. Potratz's throw was a mere 2 feet (0.60 meters) from breaking the record of 168 feet, 10 inches (51.46 meters) set by Mike Merlo in 2013.

On the track side, the 4x1600-meter relay team of Jackson Lundqist, Jordan Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon), Rand Bieri (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet), and Charles Corbett (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) finished second overall with a time of 18:12.70. That time established a new school record in the event, beating the prevous time of 18:16.15 that was set in 2015.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Alex Dzikonski (South Range, Wis./Superior), Joe Olinger (Lindstrom, Minn./Chisago Lakes), Isaac Staat (Albert Lea, Minn./Homeschool), and Alex Fathie (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall) finished fifth overall with a time of 3:35.34.

Next up for the Yellowjackets is a trip to St. Paul, Minn. to take part in the Holst Invitation hosted by Concordia-St. Paul. The meet is set to take place Saturday, April 16.
