After finishing second behind St. Scholastica at the UMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Yellowjackets men's track and field team was chomping at the bit to get another chance at the conference title.

The long wait finally arrived on Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 as the Yellowjackets traveled down to Morris, Minn. for the UMAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

This time around it was the Yellowjackets who would be taking the trophy home, as they finished with 254 points, well ahead of St. Scholastica's 196.50 points, to take home the programs first ever conference championship.

This was an all-around team effort for the Yellowjackets, as they finished with 31 top-5 finishes. Of those 31 top-5 finishes, the Yellowjackets brought home seven first place finishes, including one new school record and two new meet record.

Then in the 200-meter dash, Fathie and Alex Dzikonski (South Range, Wis./Superior) tied for second, coming in with times of 22.65.
