UMAC Player of the Week Awards (Feb. 6, 2017)
Fans of other institutions in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference may be getting sick of the name
C.J. Pillath (Coleman, Wis./Coleman H.S.) as the University of Wisconsin Superior sophomore earned the title of UMAC Field Athlete of the Week for the fourth time in five selections this season. The Yellowjackets have swept the honors this year, as teammate
Thomas Udenberg (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet H.S.) took the honor last week, the only time in 2016-17 that Pillath was not the selection.
Pillath had another strong outing at Saturday's Lake Superior Challenge hosted by the College of St. Scholastica. He posted a personal record in the shot put, claiming a victory in the event with a toss of 15.09 meters, placing him second in the UMAC this season. He also finished second in the weight throw at 16.77 meters, making him the top NCAA Division III competitor at the event.
