UMAC Player of the Week Awards - 4/10/2017

Sophomore Valerie Rowe (Ironwood, Mich./A.D. Johnston H.S.) earned her first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honor of 2016-17, on Monday after an impressive afternoon at the Norse Relays hosted by Luther (Iowa) College. She had previously earned a UMAC Track Athlete of the Week honor during the indoor campaign on January 23.

Rowe broke the UW-Superior program record in the pole vault, a record that stood for nine years, with a mark of 3.20 meters on Saturday. Rowe currently sits atop the UMAC rankings in the event. She also participated in three of the Yellowjacket relay teams that each finished second on the track in the 4-by-200 meter, 4-by-400 meter, and the sprint medley relay.
