UMAC Player of the Week Awards - April 17, 2017

The University of Wisconsin Superior continues to dominate the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week award with sophomore Fauston Wirtz (Esko, Minn./Esko H.S.) becoming the latest Yellowjacket to take home the honor on Monday. Wirtz had a monster toss in the hammer throw Saturday at Gustavus and destroyed his previous personal record in the process. Bettering his previous best by more than 13 meters, Wirtz hit a mark of 50.45 meters, which was good for a third place finish and put him at the top of the UMAC chart.

UW-Superior will be back in action on Friday afternoon at the Phil Esten Challenge hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. The event gets underway at 3 p.m.
