Yellowjackets sweep season-opening UMAC Men's Outdoor Athlete of the Week awards

UMAC Player of the Week Awards (April 3, 2017)

The University of Wisconsin Superior continues to dominate the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference men's track & field Player of the Week awards even after the transition outdoors as the Yellowjackets swept the opening-week honors released Monday with junior Jordan Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon H.S.) named Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week and junior Noah Potratz (Ripon, Wis./Ripon H.S.) the Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

At Saturday's Hamline University Invitational, Koski placed fifth and was third among NCAA Division III runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:51.76. The mark was a personal-best for Koski and ranks him atop the UMAC leaderboard as well as top-50 in the nation. Potratz had impressed in the javelin throw, breaking his own UW-Superior program record and defeating all NCAA Division II and Division III competitors in the process with a mark of 54.44 meters. Potratz is the top javeling thrower in the UMAC by nearly six meters and is currently ranked 36th in all of NCAA Div. III.
