Men's Soccer Recruit: Tyler DeHut

Tyler DeHut

UW-Superior men's soccer coach Joe Mooney has announced his latest commitment for the 2012-13 season.  Tyler DeHut from Grand Rapids (Minn.) High School is the third student-athlete to make a verbal commitment to the Yellowjackets for the coming year.

"Tyler is a natural fit in our system.  He has the versatility to play the midfield and forward positions.  He is very quick and moves fluidly with the ball.  There is no doubt that he'll have an impact right away in our program," Mooney said.

A captain for the Thunderhawks, DeHut was a three-year starter as a midfielder.  As a senior he was second on the Thunderhawks in scoring, netting eight goals and ten assists on the year.  He was a member of the Duluth News Tribune All-Area Team and received First Team All-State honors in 2011.  Following his junior season, DeHut received Minnesota All-State Honorable Mention recognition.

On his commitment to UW-Superior, DeHut said, "I chose UWS because it just felt right.  I liked the campus, the coach and the team.  They had a lot to offer me with both academics and athletics."

DeHut is an honor student at Grand Rapids High School.
