MEQUON, Wis. - The Yellowjacket women's hockey team took the seven-hour bus trip to Mequon, a trip made even more difficult due to the fact that they were playing Friday's game with just twelve skaters.  They jumped over that obstacle, however and they edged Concordia University Wisconsin 2-1 in front of a crowd of 102 at the Ozaukee Ice Center.

Dani Schultz (Morris, Minn./Morris Area) continued her goal scoring tear in her freshmen year at 13:19 of the second period.  Sheryl Kaskiw (Souris, Manitoba/Souris Collegiate) and Chelsey Wierschem (Willmar, Minn./Willmar) assisted on the even-strength goal.  The Yellowjackets took that 1-0 lead into the third period until Libby Otto evened the game up at one goal a piece at 15:32.  However, it was Schultz who answered the bell again when the team needed it most, when her wrist shot beat Falcons goaltender Jennifer DeGeorge at 16:37 of the third period. Alison Shrift (Traverse City, Mich./West High School) and Jenna Martin (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) assisted on the game-winning goal.  The goal was Schultz's team leading 13th goal of the season and Martin picked up her first point as a Yellowjacket on the play.

Shanley Peters (Gnadenthal, Manitoba/Garden Valley Collegiate) got the start in net for the Yellowjackets turning away 34 shots.  Jennifer DeGeorge stopped 37 shots for the Falcons.  Both team finished 0-4 on the power play.

These same two teams will meet again tomorrow afternoon (Jan. 21) with the Yellowjackets (8-5-2, 7-3-1 NCHA)are eyeing the series sweep.  The puck will drop at 2:00 p.m.
