Eagles soar past the Yellowjackets

The Yellowjackets failed to match their stellar play from the previous day against Finlandia University.  On this given day, it was the Yellowjackets on the wrong end of a 3-0 thumping against UW-La Crosse.
 
The Eagles notched their first goal of the contest when Megan Gresl struck a dart past Yellowjacket goalkeeper Kalea Hatlewick (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) on her left side to give them a 1-0 lead.  The unassisted goal came in the 14th minute.  Kelly Denk took over for the Eagles from that point as she cashed in with two goals to close things out.  Her first goal came in the 43rd minute when Kali Schultz fed her from the right side where she was alone and finished the job to make the score 2-0.
 
The Yellowjackets held Denk in check until the second half when she notched her second goal in the 52nd minute in front of the net around a parade of players to make the score 3-0.  Saskia Taylor and Taylor Baker were in the right place during the play as they were credited with the assists for the Eagles.
 
Hatlewick finished the game with nine saves for the Yellowjackets while Sagan Pizzingrilli came up with two saves for the Eagles.
 
The Yellowjackets (4-11, 0-7 WIAC) will return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 16th).  They will travel to Northland College in Ashland, Wis.  Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
