The Yellowjackets' quest for a win in St. Paul came up short, settling to a 1-1 tie with Hamline University.
 
The Pipers and Yellowjackets battled through a first half that saw no score.  The Yellowjackets got the upper hand in the shot department 6-4 through the first 45:00.  However, the Yellowjackets took a 1-0 lead when Ben Kasper (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) took a shot from the top of the box that went through a herd of players and past Piper goalkeeper Eric Feil.  The goal came in the 52nd minute. 
 
Greg Northrop came up with an answer for the Pipers when he was at the top of the left side of the box when he took a pass from Sam Studer.  Northrop finished with a shot that beat Yellowjacket goalkeeper Matt Elder (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) high to knot the game at a goal a piece.  The Yellowjackets controlled the tempo for the rest of the second half, outshooting the Pipers 13-3 for the rest of the game.
 
Elder stopped five shots for the Yellowjackets while Feil came up with nine saves for the Pipers.
 
The Yellowjackets (8-6-2, 1-1-1 WIAC) will return to Public Schools Stadium in Duluth, Minn. on Saturday (Oct. 20th) to take on Ripon College.  Game time is at 1:30 p.m.
