Laroche-Theune lifts Yellowjackets to 1-0 victory

The Yellowjackets come up with huge goal early in the second half that eventually lifts them to a 1-0 over UW-Platteville.
 
Both teams failed to find any offensive rhythm in the first half as both teams failed to score a goal.  However, the Pionners outshot the Yellowjackets 10-2 in the first half.  The Yellowjackets came up with two shots in the second half as well.  One of those two shots found the back of the net when Nick Early (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown) fed Trevor Laroche-Theune (LaPointe, Wis./Bayfield ) up the middle about 18 yards back from the goal.  Laroche-Theune took the one time shot that fooled Pioneer goalkeeper Ian Christensen to give the Yellowjackets a 1-0 lead and eventual win. 
 
Yellowjacket goalkeeper Matt Elder (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) came up with ten saves while Christensen stopped a shot for the Pioneers.
 
The Yellowjackets (11-6-2, 2-1-1 WIAC) will close out the season on Wendesday (Oct. 31) at Public Schools Stadium where they take on Finlandia University.  Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
