Yellowjackets come up empty against Pioneers

The Yellowjackets end the conference season on a sour note, falling to the Pioneers from UW-Platteville 3-0.
 
Sarah Eck opened the scoring for the Pionners in the 26th minute when she fired a shot past Yellowjacket goalkeeper Alexandra Paige (Anaheim, Calif./Loara) to make the score 1-0.  Melissa Dunlavy got the assist on the goal.   The Pioneers made it 2-0 in the 39th minute when Layne Jackson fed Anna Strasser in the middle of the box.  Strasser would take a one time shot that fooled Paige. 
 
The Pionners wouldn't score until the 78th minute when Sarah Eck added her second goal of the game.  She took a pass from Dunlavy and took it up ten yards and let a shot go that beat Paige to her left to make the score 3-0.  The Pioneers outshot the Yellowjackets 16-5 for the match.
 
Paige made six saves for the Yellowjackets while Cassie Blatz stopped three shots for the Pioneers.
 
The Yellowjackets (6-13, 0-8 WIAC) will cap off the 2013 season tomorrow (Oct. 28th).  They will take on Mount Mary College at 2:00 p.m.
