The Yellowjackets continued their struggles in WIAC play, losing to UW-Whitewater 5-1 on a chilly afternoon at Public Schools Stadium.

The Warhawks added their first goal of the game in the 9th minute when Sarah Sedler was fed a perfect pass from Jenna Woodson in the middle of the field.  That pass got her licking her chops as she put home a shot in the open field to make the score 1-0 UW-Whitewater.  The Warhawks had a hard time finding the back of the net throughout most of the first half.  They didn't add another goal until the 45th minute when Emily Stocks barely squeaked a shot past Yellowjacket goalkeeper Alexandra Paige (Anaheim, Calif./Loara) in front of the net to make things 2-0.

Jenna Woodson put up a multi-point game for the Warhawks in the 58th minute when Kelsey Finn dished her pass off a free kick in front of the net, where she finished.  The score at that point was 3-0 Warhawks.  The Yellowjackets answered 15 minutes later when Katelyn Adams (Two Harbors, Minn./Two Harbors) took a shot from 20 yards out that got over the head of Warhawk goalkeeper Emily Haeger and into the net to make the score 3-1.

However, the Warhawks closed out the contest with two goals, one coming in the 75th minyte from Victoria Musial to make the score 4-1.  The final goal the Warhawks scored was in the 89th minute when Erin Mrazek put home a laser shot past Paige to make things 5-1.

Paige made ten saves for the Yellowjackets while Emily Haeger came up with ten stops for the Warhawks.

The Yellowjackets (3-9, 0-6 WIAC) will travel to St. Paul, Minn. on Tuesday (Oct. 9th) to take on Hamline University.  Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
