Yellowjackets barely squeek by Lumberjacks

The Yellowjackets' road trip an hour west to Ashland proved to be successful, beating the Lumberjacks 1-0.
 
In a game that saw the entire Yellowjacket bench see the field, it was a nail-bitter to say the least.  Despite the fact that the Yellowjackets outshot the Lumberjacks 36-14, it took them until the second half to register a goal.  That goal came in the 56th minute when Ryan Linsmayer (Dresser, Wis./Osceola) took a feed from Gabriel Storck da Silva (Curtiba, Brazil/Positivo) and cashed it in the net to make the score 1-0 Yellowjackets. 
 
Yellowjacket goalkeeper Matt Elder (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) came up with seven saves while Northland College goalkeeper put up All-American numbers, registering an astonishing 24 saves.
 
The Yellowjackets (8-5-1, 1-1-1 WIAC) will return to action on Sunday (Oct. 14th) where they will travel to Northfield, Minn. to take on St. Olaf College.  Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
