Box Score

The Yellowjackets' trip to St. Paul, Minn. proved to be a disappointing one, falling to the Pipers from Hamline University 3-0.

Heather Hollinger got things started for the Pipers when she took a pass from Caroline Exarhos and took it up center field.  She got around a few Yellowjacket defenders and went in for a quick break, then went in for a shot that schooled Yellowjacket goalkeeper Kalea Hatlewick (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) to make the score 1-0 in the 21st minute.

Kelsey Caracciolo would take it from there for the Pipers as she scored the last two goals for them.  Her first goal came in the 33rd minute when she took a feed from Brienne Garside from the right side where she was standing alone in the middle of the field.  Garside took a laser shot from that spot, going in the net to make it 2-0.  She tacked on her second goal in the 75th minute.  The unassisted goal extended the Piper lead to 3-0.

Hatlewick came up with 16 saves for the Yellowjackets while Hamline goalkeeper Molly Jacobs only needed to secure two shots.

The Yellowjackets (3-10, 0-6 WIAC) will return to the Superior High School field to take on Finlandia University on Friday (Oct. 12th).  Game time is at 4:00 p.m.
