SUPERIOR,Wis.—This time it was the Yellowjackets turn to get off to a good start as Kerry Mayhew (Littleton,Colo./Heritage) scored on the power play at 9:49 of the first period.  Kaiti Graham (Middleville, Mich./Thornapple Kellogg) and Sheryl Kaskiw (Souris, Manitoba/Souris Collegiate) got the assists on the goal.  That was all the scoring during the first period.  The first was all Yellowjackets, outshooting the Sabres 21-2.

The Yellowjackets had an easier time finding the inside of the net in the second period as Alison Shrift (Traverse City, Mich./West High School) put home a wrist shot at 2:29 of the second period.  Dani Schultz (Morris, Minn./Morris Area) scored her team-leading 17th goal of the season at 8:55 of the second period to give the Yellowjackets a 3-0 lead.  It is also the third consecutive game in which Schultz scored a goal.  The Sabres answered :24 later when Kristin Skubic scored to narrow the Yellowjacket lead to 3-1.  Shrift would answer less than two minutes later on a goal to widen the Yellowjacket lead to 4-1.  The Yellowjacket power play proved to be successful in the game as Haley Olmstead (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North) scored the second power play goal of the game at 11:36 of the second period.  The Yellowjacket took that 4-1 lead into the locker room, outshooting Marian University 50-10 through two periods in the process.

Marian University went on to score one more goal in the third period to make the game 5-2 where it would stay.  The Yellowjackets eventually outshot the Sabres 58-18 to close out the game.
