Yellowjackets tame Lions

The Yellowjackets took the road to Hancock, Mich. on a mission.  That mission was accomplished as they tamed the Lions from Finlandia University 3-0.
 
It took a little bit for the Yellowjackets to find any scoring rhythm, but once they did there was no looking back.  It took until the 40th minute for the Yellowjackets to find the net when Chelsea Cossin (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown) fired home a shot from an excellent pass from Ana Morse (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central) to put the Yellowjackets up 1-0.  The Yellowjackets got back-to-back goals from Nichole Casler (Swartz Creek, Mich./Swartz Creek) to close out the scoring to put the score at 3-0.  Her first goal came in the 53rd minute while her other second goal came in the 59th minute.
 
Yellowjacket goalkeeper Kalea Hatlewick (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) only needed to make one save while Alexis Coll came up with 15 saves for the Lions.
 
The Yellowjackets (2-2, 0-0 WIAC) will kick-off WIAC play on Saturday (Sept. 14) at Duluth East High School where they will take on UW-Oshkosh.  Game time is at 1:00 p.m.
