The Yellowjackets came up on the wrong end of a 1-0 score against Concordia College on a fine Sunday afternoon at Public Schools Stadium in Duluth, Minn.
 
Despite the fact that the Yellowjackets outshot the Cobbers 21-7, they failed to find any offensive rhythm in an all around physical game that saw a total of five yellow cards and one red card.  Four of those yellow cards came at the expense of the Cobbers, all of which were for unsportsmanlike conduct.  The lone red card was on Concordia College's Jannick Bettels for committing two yellow cards in the game.  The only Yellowjacket to receive a yellow card was Ben Royce (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley), who was tagged for unsportsmanlike conduct at 56:12. 
 
Before all of that happened, Kristian Reiersgord put the Cobbers up 1-0 for good at 9:23 when he took a pass from midfielder Jared Rice and put a shot home that caught Yellowjacket goalkeeper Matt Elder (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) off guard.  After that point, it was all Yellowjackets as they outshot the Cobbers 19-6 for the rest of the game.  Elder would only have to make one more save for the Yellowjackets.   
 
The Yellowjackets (1-1, 0-0 WIAC) will return to Duluth East High School to play Augsburg College (MN) on Tuesday, September 4th.  Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
