Blue Devils dominate Yellowjackets

The Blue Devils dominated from start to finish en route to a 3-0 shutout over the Yellowjackets. 
 
The first goal by UW-Stout was off of a free kick by Ashley Gibson that somehow found it's way over the head of Yellowjacket goalkeeper Alexandra Paige (Anaheim, Calif./Loara) to make the score 1-0 in the 14th minute.  The free kick was a result of a foul on the Yellowjackets.  It didn't take long for the Blue Devils to tack on another goal when Alix Hyduke added her fourth goal of the season on a shot the beat Paige to her right in the 19th minute to make the score 2-0. 
 
It took the Yellowjackets until the 26th minute to keep their composure somewhat in check when Mallory Engen (Hutchinson, Minn./Hutchinson ) produced the first shot for the Yellowjackets.  The women in black and yellow only went on to produce two more shots for the rest of the contest.  UW-Stout went on to add their third goal in the 75th minute on a shot from Dana Hentges that beat Paige high to make the score 3-0. 
 
Paige made 11 saves for the Yellowjackets while UW-Stout goalkeeper Robbie Shelby only had to make one save.
 
The Yellowjackets (2-5, 0-3 WIAC) will return to the Superior High School field on Tuesday (Sept. 25th) to take on Bethany Lutheran College.  Game time is at 2:30 p.m.
