The Yellowjackets break a 1-1 tie in the second half en route to a 3-1 victory over Bethany Lutheran College.
 
The Yellowjackets Ben Royce (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) continued his goal scoring tear in his junior season when Richard Chegwin-Goelkel (Barranquilla, Colombia/German School) fed him the best pass imaginable from the middle of the field.  Royce finished the job when he took the ball up the field and let a laser go into the net to make the score 1-0.  However, the Vikings tied it up when Ryan Behmer took a shot that beat Yellowjacket goalkeeper Matt Elder (New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong) to his left to knot the game up at a goal a piece.
 
Ben Kasper (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) came into the second half destined for success when he took the ball off the defender and let a shot go that trickled pass Viking goalkeeper Noah Heidorn to give the Yellowjackets a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute.  Royce added his second goal of the game to put the icing on the cake in the 89th minute when he took a great feed from Collin Frisco (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) and put a shot home to make the score 3-1 Yellowjackets.
 
Elder came up with one save for the Yellowjackets while Heidorn came up with four stops for the Vikings.
 
The Yellowjackets (7-3, 0-1 WIAC) will return to Public Schools Stadium in Duluth, Minn. to take on the UW-Oshkosh Titans on Saturday (Sept. 29th).  Game time is at 12:00 p.m.
