Up a goal after two periods, the Yellowjackets scored three times in the final stanza to gain the 5-2 win.

It took just over half a period before the Yellowjackets got on the board as Karen Larson (Blumenort, Manitoba/Steinbach Regional Secondary) scored her sixth goal of the season to make it a 1-0 lead. Kiara De Kezel (Deloraine, Manitoba/Deloraine) and Haley Olmstead (Fargo, N.D./Fargo North) assisted on the goal.

With Kimberly Harter off for tripping captain Dani Schultz (Morris, Minn./Morris Area) scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season to make it a 2-0 game. Sheryl Kaskiw (Souris, Manitoba/Souris Collegiate) and Alexis Reid (Dryden, Ontario/Dryden) assisted.

Finlandia answered late in the second period when Alexandra Chutskoff scored with 1:16 left in the frame to make it a one-goal game, 2-1, at intermission.

The game stayed that way through half of the third period until the Yellowjackets regained the two-goal lead. Olmstead made it a 3-1 game with her sixth goal of the season, from De Kezel and Hailey Adair (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Champlin Park) at 12:45. Larson increased the lead to 4-1 at 17:22 scoring her second of the game on the power play. Finlandia didn't go away quietly, however, as Brittney Coleman scored on the power play at 18:36 to pull back to within two. The Yellowjackets would close out the scoring with one second left on the clock as Kaskiw set up Olmstead for her second marker of the game, making the final score 5-2.

Olmstead, in addition to her two goals also added an assist, posting her first three-point game of the season. Kaskiw also had a three-point night with three assists. Reid, De Kezel and Larson also had multi-point games to lead the Yellowjackets.
