The UW-Superior women's soccer got a rare opportunity to play under the lights Friday night when they hit the road to take on the UW-Stout Blue Devils for a WIAC Conference matchup.

Unfortunately for the Yellowjackets, the Blue Devils took full advantage of playing front of their home fans, scoring three goals in the opening 21:33 of regulation on the way to posting a 6-0 victory over UW-Superior at Nelson Field in Menomonie.

UW-Stout (3-7-3 overall, 2-3-1 WIAC) got off to a fast start, scoring at 3:47 of the opening half when Sarah Todey netted her second tally of the season on an assist from Emma DeRubeis for a quick 1-0 Blue Devils lead.

The Blue Devils doubled their advantage 4:39 later when Lauren Kizlik scored the first of her two goals on the night at 8:26 for a 2-0 UW-Stout edge.
Kizlik went on to add her second tally at 21:33 from DeRubeis for a 3-0 lead before Kelli Elmer made it 4-0 just before halftime with a goal at 38:31.

UW-Stout netted their fifth goal of the evening at 75:18 of the second half when Kelli Kornmann tallied from Elmer.  Conn then finished off the scoring for the Blue Devils with her first tally of the year at 87:46 to make the final 6-0.

The Blue Devils held a 20-6 edge in shots, including a 12-5 margin in the opening half.

Freshman Selena Pena (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Fridley) led the Yellowjackets (3-9-1, 0-4) offensively with two shots while Rachel Wallace (Anaheim, Calif./Magnolia) took the loss in goal with eight saves for UW-Superior.

Along with her two goals, Kizlik paced UW-Stout with a game-high four shots.  Kristi Schurhammer picked up the shutout in net for the Blue Devils with five stops.

The Yellowjackets head to Ashland to take on Northland College on Tuesday.  Opening kick against the Lumberjills is scheduled for 2 p.m.
