Wednesday night marked the final game for the Yellowjacket women's soccer teams' five seniors. Hosting UW-Stout, the Yellowjackets were looking to end a trying season on a high note. It was not meant to be though as Stout defeated the Yellowjackets by a final score of 2-0.

The first half was all Stout from the get go as they were constantly in the Yellowjackets end of the field. Yellowjacket goalkeeper Alexandra Paige (Anaheim, Calif./Loara) was able to do her part to turn away the Blue Devils and keep the score tied 0-0. Stout took a 1-0 lead in the 21 minute when Paige mishandled a save that bounced right to Sydney Kasper, whose ensuing shot found the back of the net. Despite a barrage of shots from Stout, Paige and the Yellowjacket defense held to keep the score 1-0 heading into the half.

The first half saw a dominant effort from Stout as they outshot the Yellowjackets 15-6, with a 8-1 advantage in shots-on-goal.

The second half saw both teams battling to get their offense going. Stout was able to take an insurmountable 2-0 lead at 64:59 when a free kick deflected off of a Yellowjacket and into the net. That shot took the wind out of the Yellowjackets sails, as the Stout was able to control play for the rest of the half.

The Yellowjackets were outshot in the second half 10-2, including 2-0 shots-on-goal. For the match the Yellowjackets were outshot 25-8, including 11-1 shots-on-goal.

Paige started in goal for the Yellowjackets, allowing two goals and making nine saves. She falls to 2-6-0 on the season.

Paige Meyer started in goal for Stout, making one save in the shutout effort.

Sally Linzmeier (Valders, Wis./Valders) had the lone shot-on-goal for the Yellowjackets.

The Yellowjackets finish the season with a record of 2-13-0, 2-8-0 UMAC.
