The University of Wisconsin Superior fell by a 2-0 final to North Central University in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action for both team's season finale in Minneapolis on Friday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets and Rams battled defensively throughout a scoreless opening half, the two teams combining for just four shots with a single shot on goal apiece before the break. Freshman midfielder

Britt Zieroth (Twig, Minn./Proctor H.S.) had the two attempts for UW-Superior in the opening frame, while senior goalkeeper
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul H.S.) stopped one ball to hold North Central (4-13-0, 2-6-0 UMAC) scoreless headed to the break.
The Rams broke through with the first score of the game in the 62nd minute when the Yellowjackets were called for a foul in front of the net, and NCU's Dakota Sparrman made good on a penalty kick attempt past the diving Henderson. Sparrman would again tack on to the lead in the 83rd minute, adding another unassisted score to put North Central up 2-0. UW-Superior had its chances, out-shooting the Rams 9-6 overall and 7-5 in on-target attempts but could not slip a score past NCU's Monica Herrera who had the home crowd cheering all afternoon. Henderson finished with three saves for the Yellowjackets.
UW-Superior ends its season at 1-16-0 and 1-7-0 in the UMAC.
