The University of Wisconsin Superior could not handle the high-powered offense of the University of Wisconsin-Stout on Tuesday night, falling 95-60 to its in-state rival in Menomonie, Wisconsin.
Freshman
Rafael Monteiro (São Paulo, Brazil/Santa Marcelina College) followed up his UMAC Player of the Week performance by pacing UW-Superior (1-3), scoring 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting and 5-of-6 from thre free throw line while matching two others with a team-high four rebounds. UW-Stout (3-1) shot 50.6 percent for the game, hitting nine three-pointers en route to the victory. John Keefe had a game-high 32 points for the Blue Devils, knocking down four three-pointers while shooting 13-of-23 on the night. Keegan Dickson had a game-high eight rebounds to go with 20 points for Stout.
With UWS leading 8-7 at 4:52 of the first, the Blue Devils scored 17 of the next 21 points and expanded on their lead from there. The 35-point final margin was the largest of the game for Stout. Sophomore guard
Montroy Scott (Fridley, Minn./Columbia Heights H.S.) also hit double figures for the Yellowjackets with 11 points on the night.
