Sophomore forward
Daniel Litchke (Superior, Wis./Superior H.S.) scored a hat trick, but an explosive first period proved enough as Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) knocked off the University of Wisconsin Superior 6-4 on Friday night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
UW-Superior (4-9-0) scored the first goal of the game just 1:09 into the action as senior
Jordan Neduzak (Morden, Man./Morden Collegiate Institute) netted his seventh of the year. MSOE (4-4-2) finished the opening frame 3-for-4 on the powerplay, with Michael Romund scoring a pair with the man advantage as the Raiders took a 4-3 lead to the locker room after the first intermission.
Litchke scored a pair in the first period, and added his third on the day in the third period, pulling the Yellowjackets withint 6-4 at 11:16 of the period after MSOE had scored once in each of the second and third periods. UWS would get no closer on the night. Senior defender
Matt Audette (Thief River Falls, Minn./Lincoln H.S.) and freshman forward
Bruno Birzitis (Riga, Latvia/Riga Distance Education Secondary) each had a pair of assists for the Yellowjackets.
Junior goaltender
Ethan Wood (Jasper, Alberta/Paul Kane H.S.) made 29 saves for the Yellowjackets, while Austin Campbell picked up the victory for the Raiders with 10 saves in the first period before giving way to Zach Woodman for the final two periods. Woodman made 12 saves on the night. UW-Superior finished 1-for-7 on the powperplay while MSOE finished 3-for-8.
