The Yellowjackets fell in overtime for the third time this season, as an own goal charged to UW-Superior broke a scoreless tie in the 92nd minute against the University of St. Thomas on Sunday in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Tommies kicked a ball in from the corner shortly following a Yellowjacket foul that rebounded off a Superior player into the net for the goal just 1:24 into overtime. St. Thomas (6-0-2) had 11 shots in the match-up while holding UW-Superior (0-6-0) to just a pair. Senior goalkeeper Ben Wilhelm (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area H.S.) made both stops he needed in regulation, suffering a hard-luck loss while the Tommies' Grant Larson picked up the victory without needing a save.

UST's Paul Gwidt led all players with three shots. Junior Nick Piazza (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West H.S.) and freshman Garrett Maupin (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grover Senior H.S.) each had an attempt for the Yellowjackets.

UW-Superior will look to change its luck when it returns to friendlier turf. The Yellowjackets will play host to bridge rival the College of St. Scholastica on Wednesday afternoon at the Yellowjacket Soccer Complex. Opening kick is set for 4:15 p.m. following the women's contest.
