Last Week's Highlights
- The men's and women's basketball teams each made a late comeback push but fell in exhibition play against the University of Minnesota Duluth on Tuesday afternoon.

Men's Basketball (2-11, 1-4 UMAC)
- After opening the season's second half with a 97-57 defeat to Bethel University (R.V.) last Friday night, UW-Superior will return to action in the Northland this Saturday when the Yellowjackets take on The College of St. Scholastica in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action in the final road stop before a four-game homestand for UWS. The Saints are 6-7 on the year and 3-2 in conference play. CSS knocked off the Yellowjackes in an overtime thriller, 116-105 last season on Feb. 13, 2016 in Duluth.

Women's Basketball (9-4, 5-0 UMAC)
- UW-Superior split a pair of match-ups at home last week, defeating Alverno College 85-56 in non-conference play last Thursday afternoon. The Yellowjacket women will also take on St. Scholastica this Saturday in their return to UMAC play. The Saints are just 3-9 on the season including 2-3 against the conference, after being up-ended by St. Olaf College on the road last week. UWS knocked off CSS 65-48 in their last meeting on February 13, 2016 last season in Duluth.

Men's Hockey (4-9-1, 0-2-0 WIAC)
- The Yellowjackets finally return to action after a scoreless tie last time out against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Dec. 10. It will be 27 days since its last action when UW-Superior takes on Concordia College (R.V.) on Friday night in Moorhead, Minnesota. At 7-4, the Cobbers ride a three-game winning streak into Friday night against the Yellowjackets. Concordia defeated UWS 5-1 in their last meeting nearly a year to the date on January 8, 2016. Saturday night, the Yellowjackets will travel to St. Cloud, Minnesota to take on Saint John's University. SJU defeated UW-Superior 3-2 last season on January 9, 2016 in Superior. At 7-4-2, the Johnnies will host another Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe, the University of Wisconsin River Falls, on Thursday night before the Yellowjackets come to town.

Women's Hockey (5-7-0, 1-2-0 WIAC)
- UW-Superior also returns after a 27-day break, falling 3-0 to St. Scholastica last time out on Dec. 10. The Yellowjackets will have a tune-up Friday afternoon as they host the Korean National Team in exhibition play at 1:00 p.m. at Wessman Arena. We hope to have live statistics available for that match-up. This weekend, UWS will take on Finlandia University in a two-game set on the road in Hancock, Michigan on Saturday and Calumet, Michigan at the Calumet Colosseum on Sunday. The Lions are 0-12-0 on the season. The Yellowjackets defeated Finlandia 5-2 last season in Superior on Feb. 21, 2016. Tuesday night, UW-Superior will give the University of St. Thomas a rematch after the Yellowjackets defeated the then-No. 9-ranked Tommies 2-1 earlier this season on Nov. 8 in Superior. St. Thomas is now 2-5-2 on the season.
