SUPERIOR, Wis. (October 25, 2017) - The Yellowjackets fell to the Northland College Lumberjills Wednesday after allowing an early goal and not being able to find the equalizer.
After coming to a 0-0 double-overtime draw earlier in the season, both teams came out firing on goal. The Lumberjills would score in the 9th minute on a ball that was deflected off of a Yellowjacket defender. Superior would be down 1-0 at the half.
The second half saw better flow from the 'Jackets, creating solid opportunities off of good passes, adding six more shots in the second to total 12 shots.
Emma Street (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis) and
Hailey Kontny (Superior, Wis./Superior) would see good chances but were unable to connect, falling 1-0.
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul) spent all 90 minutes in goal for the Yellowjackets, saving three shots including a penalty kick from the Lumberjills.
Superior will finish off their regular season this Saturday Oct. 28, taking on Minnesota Morris at 1 p.m. at home in the NBC Sports Complex.
