SUPERIOR, Wis. (December 9, 2017) – The Yellowjackets took care of business against the Finlandia Lions for the second time this season. Three different 'Jackets found twine in the third period comeback. 

The first period saw a goal from the Lions at 7:38, this lead would hold to the first period horn, followed by a second period with no scoring on either side.

Ian Ecklund (Twig, Minn./Proctor) wasted no time in the third period to tie the game once again. Ecklund would score his power-play goal on an assisted from Andrew Durham (Plano, Texas/Plano East). It would only take 10 more minutes of play for the 'Jackets to get the lead; Liam Blais (Uxbridge, Ont./Uxbridge Secondary) scored his third of the season on passes from Dylan Nelson (Clearwater, Minn./Annandale) and Daniel Litchke (Superior, Wis./Superior) to take a 2-1 lead. The Yellowjackets would then score their third of the game again on the power play with 21 seconds remaining; Litchke this time on the receiving end from Durham and Evgeny Yakovlev (Belgorod, Russia).

Both teams were familiar to the penalty box in this one, as nine were given out and 26 minutes were served.

The 'Jackets racked up 44 shots, compared to the Lions' 15, while also controlling the face-off circle, winning 37 of the 66 face offs.

Cole Skinner (Lunenberg, N.S./Parkview Education Centre) won his fourth game of 2017-18, saving 14 pucks on the night.

Superior will take three weeks off before hosting the Superior Showdown Dec. 29 and 30, starting with Marian and MSOE at 3:05 Dec. 29 and then the Yellowjackets and Concordia-Moorhead Cobbers at 7:05 p.m.
