Trailing at the half, the University of Wisconsin Superior opened up an early third quarter run to pull away from the University of Minnesota Morris in the second half for an undefeated Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship-clinching 76-63 victory in the UMAC Game of the Week on Saturday afternoon in Morris, Minnesota.
After a back-and-forth first half, UW-Superior (21-4, 16-0 UMAC) trailed by one at halftime, 37-36. The Yellowjackets scored the first six points of the second half and out-scored UM-Morris (19-6, 14-2 UMAC) 21-13 in the third quarter. They'd keep that pace up in the fourth quarter, eventually pushing the lead out to a game-high 17 with 3:07 remaining in the game. The Cougars would score five of the final six points in the game, but UWS held them at bay to claim iyd third-straight conference championship dating back to a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title in 2014-15 and two-straight undefeated regular seasons in the UMAC. The victory also claims home-court advantage throughout the duration of the UMAC Postseason Tournament, where the Yellowjackets will host the winner of Monday's fourth-fifth seed game on Wednesday night in the semifinals at Mortorelli Gymnasium.

Hannah Norlin (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield H.S.) scored a team-high 20 points for UW-Superior, while junior guard
Hailey Kontny (Superior, Wis./Superior H.S.) earned a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Junior guard
Amelia Leger (Andover, Minn./Andover H.S.) also hit double figures with 11 points on the day. Elli Stevenson had a team-high 11 points and seven rebounds for the Cougars. Morris shot 48.0 percent for the game, knocking down eight three-pointers, but the Yellowjackets turned the Cougars over 27 times and shot 50.0 percent as a team.
