After a slow start in the first half, the University of Wisconsin Superior came from behind to defeat Martin Luther College 89-72 as the Yellowjackets look to make a late push in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference standings and claim a playoff spot.
UW-Superior (6-15, 5-7 UMAC) trailed by four at the half, thanks in large part to five three-pointers by the Knights in the first half. The two teams combined to shoot 31-of-70 (44.3 percent) in the first half, posting nearly identical marks from the floor but the five three's marked the difference as Martin Luther (1-19, 0-12 UMAC) led 42-38 at the break. The Yellowjackets continued to heat up from there, shooting 51.4 percent in the second half (18-of-35) while the Knights cooled off to shoot just 32.4 percent in the second half and 38.2 percent for the game.
Sophomore
Montroy Scott (Fridley, Minn./Columbia Heights H.S.) had 23 points to lead all scorers, while freshman

The key turnaround point for the Yellowjackets came trailing 60-57 with 11:49 remaining in the game. UW-Superior ran off eight-straight points and 13-of-14 overall. The Yellowjackets kept the Knights at bay, with Martin Luther never getting back within fewer than eight points, and UW-Superior rolling to the eventual 17-point victory.
