The University of Wisconsin Superior rolled to a 29-point victory in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference action as the Yellowjackets knocked off Martin Luther College 84-55 on Friday night at Mortorelli Gym.
UW-Superior (17-4, 12-0 UMAC) trailed early but after taking an 8-7 lead with just 3:15 down in the first quarter, the Yellowjackets never looked back leading by 30 with 2:24 remaining in the game. Freshman forward
Eva Reinertsen (Duluth, Minn./Homeschooled) scored 16 points to lead UWS, while sophomore
Hannah Norlin (Litchfield, Minn./Litchfield H.S.) added 14 points of her own. The Yellowjackets got points from 13 different players on the night, including 49 points contributed off the bench for UW-Superior.
The Yellowjackets shot 51.6 percent for the game (33-of-64) including hitting 7-of-16 three-pointers on the day. Martin Luther (7-13, 5-7 UMAC) shot 35.7 percent for the game (20-of-56) but did hit five three-pointers of their own. Grace Schultz had 14 points for the Knights, including a 3-for-4 day from beyond the arc.
