MORRIS, Minn. (September 16, 2017) – In their first UMAC contest of the season, the Yellowjackets fell to the Cougars.
Sarah Fjeran (Duluth, Minn./Marshall School) led Superior with two shots on goal, and
Bailey Henderson (Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul) made 10 saves on the day.
The Cougars came out firing in the first half, scoring in the 3rd, 14th, and 27th minute. The 'Jackets managed four of their seven shots in the first half, but were unable to connect.
In the second half, Superior held off Morris attack until the 87th and 89th minutes.
Britt Zieroth (Twig, Minn./Proctor),
Liza Shelquist (Pine Island, Minn./Pine Island),
Danielle James (Bloomington, Minn./Kennedy), and
Emma Street (Oak Grove, Minn./St. Francis) also got shots off for the 'Jackets.
Superior will play next Tuesday Sept. 19 against another UMAC opponent in Crown at home at 5:30 in the NBC Sports Complex.
