Full U.M.A.C. Release
The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday and a pair of Yellowjackets have earned the honors in their respective sports.
For the fourth time in as many tries
Jordan Koski (Park Falls, Wis./Chequamegon) has been named the U.M.A.C. Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week. Koski was the top finisher among Yellowjacket and U.M.A.C. runners at the UW-Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invite over the weekend. The event was run on the same course that will host the N.C.A.A. Championships in a few weeks time. Koski clocked a time of 26:36.4, which placed him 110 out of 344 runners on the slow, muddy track. Koski has been the top finisher for the Yellowjackets in all four events they've run in 2018.
Up Next: The Yellowjackets will be off this week before competing in the U.M.A.C. Championships October 27.
This week marks the first time
Leonardo Paredes (Uberlandia, Brazil/Colegio Sao Paschoall) was honored by the U.M.A.C. The senior scored a pair of goals in Saturday's 3-1 win over Martin Luther. Paredes started and closed the scoring for the Yellowjackets and finished the match with three shots attempted and two shots on goal. Earlier in the week Paredes had an assist and a shot in the Yellowjackets' 4-1 home win over St. Scholastica. A key cog in the Yellowjacket attack, Paredes now has six goals and 13 points on the season.
Up Next: The Yellowjackets will look to push their winnings streak to nine and unbeaten streak to 14 on the road at Northwestern. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. Tuesday.
