UW-Stout 6, Yellowjackets 0
MENOMONIE, Wis.: After nearly a week away from the pitch, the Yellowjacket women's soccer team returned to action Saturday, taking on former W.I.A.C. foe UW-Stout in its first road match of the season. The Blue Devils proved to be anything but hospitable hosts, scoring three times in each half on the way to a 6-0 win over the Yellowjackets at Nelson Field in Menomonie, Wis.
UW-Stout opened the scoring early when Lindsay Penkala scored from the right side of the box at 9:37 of the opening half. Less than a minute later Stout added to the lead on a goal by Lexi Fernandez. The lead extended to 3-0 in the 16th minute whe Marissa Steele scored from the center of the box.
The Blue Devils added three more in the second half, getting goals from Sydney Kasper and Katie Sukanen in quick succession to push the lead to 5-0. Then with under 10 minutes to play Ariel Kuchta scored from the left side of the box to make the final margin of victory 6-0.
Morgan Philliber (Apple Valley, Minn./Edina) got the start in goal for the Yellowjackets, playing the full 90 minutes and making 10 saves.

Chloe Schmaltz (Beaumount, Alberta/Escole Secondaire Beaumont Composite), and
Emily Roe (Blaine, Wash./Blaine) each notched shots on goal for the Yellowjackets.
Up Next: The Yellowjackets (0-2-1, 0-0-0 U.M.A.C.) will play an exhibition match at Lake Superior College Wednesday, September 12. They're back in action for real Saturday, September 15 when they travel across the bay to take on St. Scholastica. Game time is set for 12:00 p.m.
