After earning a pair of shutouts last week to claim a share of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season title, the UW-Superior men's soccer team jumped to No. 7 in the latest United Soccer Coaches regional rankings.
The Yellowjackets (11-3-2, 7-0-0 UMAC) topped Crown, 6-0, last Tuesday and follow it with a 4-0 win over Minnesota Morris Saturday. The 'Jackets can win the league title outright Tuesday with a victory over Northwestern. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
UWS is ahead of Simpson (14-2-1), UW-Whitewater (12-3-1) and Knox (11-3-2) in the rankings. The top three remained unchanged from a week ago with Luther (11-3-1), Central (11-2-2) and Loras (12-4-1) there.
St. Thomas (9-3-3), sixth last week, switched places with No. 4 St. Norbert (10-4-2). Gustavus Adolphus (12-3-0) stayed put at No. 5.
