RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Superior men's basketball team had three players score in double figures, but home-standing UW-River Falls was too much for the Yellowjackets, winning, 98-72, at Don Page Arena Thursday.
UWS got 16 points and four rebounds from senior
Vid Milenkovic (Zurich, Switzerland/DSB Belgrade (Serbia)) while freshman
Mason Ackley (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) posted a season-high 12 with four boards and two assists. Senior
Mac Reykdal (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) had 11 points and two blocks.
The Falcons shot over 60-percent for the game, connecting on 40-of-66 shots, including 12-for-24 from 3-point range.
UWRF, which improved to 3-1 in the win, held a 51-34 lead at halftime and outscored the 'Jackets by nine in the second half to complete the victory.
Allen Anderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) chipped in with nine points, five assists and two steals in 19 minutes for Superior, which shot nearly 41 percent from the field on the night. UWS knocked down 11 3-pointers – three coming from Reykdal and two from Milenkovic.
Noah Hanson paced the Falcons with 17 points, nine boards and three assists.
UWS returns home to take UW-Stevens Point Tuesday. Tip-off Mertz Mortorelli Gym is 7 p.m.
