SUPERIOR, Wis. – UW-Superior athletics department will be celebrating the NCAA's eighth annual Division III Week during the week of April 1 through April 7.

Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.

Throughout the week, the Yellowjackets' social media pages will have unique content, including graphics and feature stories highlighting student-athletes and their experiences at UWS.

The week culminates with a 'Jacket Day celebration. 'Jacket Day is the department's annual event with Special Olympics and the Challenge Center. From 10-11 a.m., Special Olympics athletes can play soccer, tennis, baseball, softball, and track and field with our UWS student-athletes in the Lydia C. Thering Fieldhouse. From 11 a.m.-noon, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and golf will be offered in the Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium. At noon, everyone will come together for pizza in the lobby of the Marcovich Wellness Center. The Event is free and open to any Special Olympics athlete.
