ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The UW-Superior men's basketball team shot a scorching 65.4 percent in the first half and four Yellowjackets finished in double figures to remain unbeaten in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with a 95-76 win over Crown at Wild Athletic Center Wednesday.
Senior
Mac Reykdal (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) scored 22 points on 8-for-16 shooting, including 5-of-9 from 3-point range to lead the 'Jackets to their first victory against Crown in four tries. The win improved league-leading UWS to 7-6 overall and 5-0 in the UMAC.

Vid Milenkovic (Zurich, Switzerland/DSB Belgrade (Serbia)) collected his fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Freshman
Mason Ackley (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) added 20 points, two assists and two boards. Senior
Allen Anderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) rounded out the group of double-figure scorers with 16 points on 8-for-12 from the field, adding eight rebounds.
The 'Jackets shot 56.7 percent (34-of-60) for the game, their highest since connecting on 57.1 percent of their attempts in a 82-73 win over Luther Nov. 25, 2017. UWS also knocked down 22-of-27 from the free-throw line for an 81.8 percent clip.
Tied at 15-15 at the 6:15 mark, layups from Anderson and Ackley gave the 'Jackets a 17-13 lead. Then, up, 21-18, Milenkovic converted a layup in transition and was fouled. He finished off the three-point play for a 24-18 edge with 9:12 remaining in the half.
The lead grew to 38-30 when
Eli Vogel (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) found Reykdal on the right wing for a trey with 3:55 left. Ackley then put together a three-point play of his own, giving his team its first double-digit lead of the night at 45-33. The 'Jackets went into halftime with a 50-37 advantage.
Crown (3-8, 2-3 UMAC) whittled its deficit to nine points two times early in the second half, but UWS stayed the course.
Xavier Patterson (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) pushed the lead to 64-49 with yet another three-point play with 12:47 remaining. It then moved to a 21-point game – the largest lead of the night – at 81-60 with 7:11 on the clock when
Joe Kramer (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) drained a jumper in the paint. The 'Jackets kept the pressure on, rolling to the victory.
UWS held a 48-28 advantage in points in the paint and committed just 11 turnovers in the game.
Crown's Tim Wendel scored a game-high 26 points, leading four Storm players in double figures.
UWS returns to action Saturday, travelling to New Ulm, Minn., to take on Martin Luther at 3 p.m.
