SUPERIOR, Wis. – Senior Vid Milenkovic (Zurich, Switzerland/DSB Belgrade (Serbia)) poured in 27 points on 11-for-16 shooting to reach the 1,000-point milestone as the UW-Superior men's basketball team defeated Martin Luther, 83-59, at Mertz Mortorelli Gym Saturday.

Needing 26 points for 1,000, Milenkovic hit a jumper with 2:40 remaining for the mark, making it a 75-79 game. He also pulled down 10 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season.

The Yellowjackets placed all five starters in double figures on the day, Mac Reykdal (Washburn, Wis./Washburn) scored 16 points, Eli Vogel (Appleton, Wis./Appleton West) had 14, Allen Anderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Osseo) 11 and Mason Ackley (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) 10. Anderson also posted 10 assists for his first double-double at UWS on a day when he and the five other Superior seniors were honored for their contributions to the program.

UWS (16-7, 13-1 UMAC) earned a 40-27 advantage at halftime, pushing it 47-29 just 1:48 into the second half on a Milenkovic jumper in the paint. The Knights whittled the lead to nine at 50-41 with 13 minutes to play and then to eight at 55-47 at the midpoint, but the 'Jackets used a 9-0 run to regain momentum. Four players scored in the spurt, paced by four from Ackley.

UWS closed the game with an 18-4 run to put it way over the final 5:15 to close out the victory.

Superior shot 47 percent from the floor for the game (31-for-66) and 42 percent (8-of-19) from 3-point range, while outrebounding Martin Luther by 11 and turning the Knights over 19 times.

Ethan Eisenmann and Ian Paulsen led the Knights (5-18, 2-13 UMAC) with 17 and 15 points with four rebounds, respectively.

The 'Jackets host Northwestern Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
