NORMAN, Okla. – Coming off of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference championships in each of the last two seasons, the UW-Superior men's golf team begins the 2021 season receiving votes in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Pre-Spring Poll, announced Friday.

The Yellowjackets, who appear in the poll for the first time in school history, earned five votes and are tied with Allegheny, Skidmore and Whitworth.

Illinois Wesleyan, which has been No. 1 in six consecutive rankings dating to last season, is atop the poll with 360 points and 12 of a possible 15 first-place votes.

UWS claimed the UMAC title in both 2019 and 2020, earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. The 'Jackets finished 38th overall at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky., with a two-round 661 in 2019. The NCAA championship was not contested last spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
