ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The UW-Superior volleyball team hit a season-best .363 on its way to an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference sweep of Crown at Wild Athletic Center on Friday.

The Yellowjackets collected 38 kills against just nine errors in 80 total attacks in the 25-16, 25-7, 25-6 victory. UWS limited the Storm to a -0.14 percentage, forcing Crown to hit negative numbers in both the second and third sets.

Freshman
Maiana Stark (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) led all players with 10 kills while junior
Cassy Teff (Foley, Minn./Foley) added nine on 14 swings (.643) and sophomore
Kaylin Plautz (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) tallied eight on 10 total attacks.

Defensively, freshman
Jenna Anderson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji) recorded a match-high 13 digs and Teff had eight. Superior (5-11, 3-1 UMAC) registered all eight service aces in the match as
Hailey Atwood (Big Lake, Minn./Big Lake) had four,
Megan Holz (Savage, Minn./Burnsville Senior) three and
Alexie Pryd (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove Senior) one.Â

Down 5-4 in the first, UWS won six-of-seven points to earn a 10-6 lead. The advantage was later extended to 20-12 with an Atwood ace. Kills from Holz and Plautz ended the set, giving Superior a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Storm didn't offer much resistance the rest of the night as the 'Jackets enjoyed runs of six, seven and 11 consecutive points in the second set and a 9-1 run to begin the third set.

Crown (1-8, 0-4) received three kills from Ashley Earick, nine assists from Talana Rudzitisand seve digs from Sage Johntson.
