SUPERIOR, Wis. – UW-Stout shot 50 percent from the floor and forced the UW-Superior women's basketball team into 22 turnovers as the Blue Devils earned a 76-44 win at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium in the season opener for both teams on Tuesday.

Stout limited the Yellowjackets to 28 percent shooting, while getting a combined 25 points from Anna Much (15) and Lizzy Olsem. Junior guard
Kaelyn Christian (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville Senior) paced Superior with 14 points on 4-for-8 shooting, including connecting on 2-of-4 from 3-point range.

The Blue Devils led 21-7 after the first quarter and 40-18 at halftime. Sixteen UWS players saw game action with eight scoring points. Freshman
Makenna Guden (Edgar, Wis./Edgar) and
Allie Zimmer (Waconia, Minn./Waconia) chipped in with seven and eight points, respectively, to lead a 23-point effort from the reserves.

Stout outrebounded UWS, 43-30, with Mutch grabbing a game-high nine boards. Sam Schaeffer added six, while Haylee Yaeger dished out four of the Devils' 18 assists. Junior
Mady Sanders (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) had a game-best five helpers for the 'Jackets.
