SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The University of Wisconsin-Superior and Yellowjacket Athletics have announced an update to the spectator policy regarding Yellowjacket home sporting events.

Beginning with the home baseball games Saturday, March 20 a limited number of spectators will be permitted at home outdoor Yellowjacket events. The number of spectators will be determined using protocols established by Superior High School and Douglas County.

This change does not affect contests being played at indoor venues on the UW-Superior campus, where spectator attendance will be prohibited until further notice.
 
Under the new spectator policy, all student-athletes will be permitted to have two guests attend home outdoor sporting events. This includes UW-Superior student-athletes as well as visiting student-athletes. Registration through the team's head coach 24 hours prior to arrival at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex is required. Upon arrival at the stadium, fans will need to check in at the gate and will receive a wrist band, indicating they are permitted to be in attendance. Guests who are not registered within 24 hours of the start of the scheduled contest will not be permitted entry to the sports complex.
 
Based on the number of guests registered for a specific contest, the remaining allowable occupancy will be given to UW-Superior students and staff on a first come, first served basis.
 
All fans attending home outdoor sporting events will be required to abide by UW-Superior, Superior High School, and Douglas County health and safety protocols. This includes wearing a mask at all times and maintaining proper social distance from other attendees – these are requirements for anyone who is visiting school grounds.
 
The maximum occupancy of the various athletic spaces at the NBC Spartan Sports Complex are as follows:
 
Baseball – 100 spectators permitted within the gated facility.
Softball – 100 spectators permitted within the gated facility.
Soccer – 150 spectators permitted within the gated facility.
Tennis - Spectators will be permitted outside the gated playing area.

This update applies only to events being hosted by UW-Superior. For contests being played away from UW-Superior, the spectator policies for the host institutions and/or venues would apply.
