SUPERIOR, Wis. – The UW-Superior softball team opened its home slate with a doubleheader sweep of North Central at NBC Spartan Sports Complex Tuesday, winning 19-0 and 14-0, both in five innings.

The Yellowjackets (7-5, 2-0 UMAC) banged out 21 hits on the day, while the pitching of
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights),
Malania Madill (Canyon, Minn./South Ridge)Â Â and
Amanda Kishish (St. Francis, Minn./St. Francis) limited the Rams to three hits – all singles.

Superior scored six runs in each of the second and third innings of the first game and added seven in the fourth. Four players tallied multiple hits led by
Olivia Bancroft-Hart (Cambria, Wis./Cambria-Friesland), who was 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Tiffany Kirk (McHenry, Ill./McHenry East) was 2-for-4 with two doubles and four runs driven in.Â
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) and
Davriana Horvath (Esko, Minn./Esko) also had two hits apiece.

Up 2-0 in the bottom of the second inning, the 'Jackets got consecutive RBI base hits from
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights), Bancroft-Hart and Kirk to make it 6-0. Kraemer scored
Hailee Melgeorge (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) with a single, Bancroft-Hart plated
Kaileigh Miller (Superior, Wis./Superior Senior) with a double and Kirk scored Kraemer and Bancroft-Hart with a double of her own.

UWS sent 10 players to the plate in the bottom of the third, and used RBI doubles from
Bryton Kukowski (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown), Bancroft-Hart and Kirk to push the lead to 12-0.

UWS scored seven in the bottom of the fourth to account for the final margin.Â

Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) (4-3) stuck out 11 and allowed just a first-inning single to Emily Loop in earning the victory in the circle.

The 'Jackets scored nine runs in the first inning of game two to leave no doubt early. The first eight batters reached safely with five collecting hits.
Tayler Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) tripled to start the inning and Bancroft-Hart followed with a double for a 1-0 lead. Bancroft-Hart made it 2-0 when she scored on a wild pitch and then
Kaela Kraemer (Spring Green, Wis./Wisconsin Heights) singled home Kirk.Â

Jessica Jacobson (Sturgeon Bay, Wis./Southern Door) made it 5-0 with a double to right-center field that plated Kukowski and Melgeorge came up with a two-run triple, scoring Jacobson and Horvath. Kirk closed the scoring in the inning with an RBI double to bring in Bancroft-Hart.

UWS added five more in the fourth on three hits.

Madill improved to 3-2 striking out five and allowing one hit before giving way to Kishish for the final two frames. Kishish struck out three more and surrendered one hit.

Jacobson (two doubles, run scored) and Melgeorge (2-for-3, triple, two runs and three RBIs) each posted two hits in the game-two win.

The Yellowjackets are back in action tomorrow hosting Northwestern for a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
