SUPERIOR, Wis. – Tuesday, May 4 the University of Wisconsin-Superior held its annual Day of Giving, and the 2021 event concluded as the most successful in the event's history, with donors contributing more than $200,000 to various programs across campus.
 
For the second year in a row, Yellowjacket Athletics conducted a telethon, giving an opportunity for head coaches of the different programs to talk about their 2021 seasons, what the future holds for their programs and the importance of fundraising. The telethon also gives the department the chance to further target specific needs each program, and the department itself, are fundraising for.
 
In total, donors contributed $47,595 to the athletics department and the individual programs. Below is a list of the items that were funded through the generous support of athletics donors.
 
Athletics Department: fueling station, strength and conditioning equipment, technology and equipment
Baseball: 2022 US Bank Stadium games
Cross Country: team retreat
Golf: divot board training tool
Men's Basketball: team warm-up apparel, video editing software
Men's Hockey: team apparel, team retreat
Men's Soccer: team apparel, team retreat
Softball: team retreat
Tennis: GoPro and iPad
Track and Field: championship meals
Volleyball: team apparel
Women's Basketball: St. Louis trip, team retreat
Women's Hockey: team apparel
Women's Soccer: team apparel, team retreat
 
In two years doing the telethon during the Superior Day of Giving, Yellowjacket Athletics has raised nearly $100,000. Every dollar donated goes directly to benefit the experience of UW-Superior student-athletes.
